Activision Blizzard also supports Ukraine

Among the video game companies that have already spoken about it are Sony and Microsoft. Activision Blizzard is the one that has just joined by announcing that it has been keeping an eye on “news from the Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis that is developing and worsening”.

In a press release sent to Activision Blizzard employees (which was presented publicly), the company’s chief operating officer, Daniel Alegre, mentioned that the company is committed to helping affected people and “offer support in any way possible”.

In case you missed it: the Nintendo eShop is not working inside Ukraine as a result of the war.

Activision Blizzard announced sanctions against Russia

That’s not all, as the company announced measures against Russia for starting the armed attack. One of the most important is the suspension of “new sales” of games, which also include intra-title transactions on Russian territory.

Like Apple and other companies, Activision Blizzard will be doubling employee donations to organizations that support the Ukrainian region. At the time of publishing the release, $300,000 USD had already been raised and more charities are expected to be added, apart from the increase in the duplication limit, from $1,000 USD to $10,000 USD, which means that each employee will be able to donate up to $10,000 USD and Activision Blizzard will receive another $10,000 USD from your pocket.

As part of the humanitarian aid that it will offer, Activision Blizzard informed that it is doing possible through its employee support programs and human resource leaders to help their employees and their families who are being affected by this conflict. The company also recognized the contributions being made by its colleagues in Poland, where volunteers have helped Ukrainian refugees.

“We stand with the people of Ukraine and will provide updates on any actions we take as this crisis continues to unfold,” the executive said goodbye in the letter.
